These winding stairs are part of Cahir Castle, in Co Tipperary, that we visited recently. They go round and round, and are not very much fun if you happen to meet someone coming up as you go down!

I stayed in a hotel in Colmar France with steps like these! Also, now that I think about it, Brugges Belgium too! Scared me that I would trip and ruin my trip!

The view/ destination at the top of these stairs is usually worth it, even if you do meet lots of people on the way up! And who knows, you might even meet someone interesting I often wonder how Hellelil and Hildebrand managed on their turret stairs! Great photo, excellent location.
