Lingering Look at Windows : Cahir Castle

While away recently on a golfing weekend, after one day the rain came down, so there was nothing for it but to go sightseeing. These windows were all in Cahir Castle, which was built a few years ago – in the twelfth century to be exact!  It is a very well preserved castle, now run by the Office of Public Works, and has a long history of seiges and battles, and changing hands a few times over the centuries.

Love the solidity of these walls, Joan. I would love to perch in the alcove 🙂

Very interesting windows. I especially like the first one.

I would love to hear what you think!
