Jo’s Monday Walk : Lisgoold Wood

On a recent walk through the woods, we came across this natural spring, coming out of the ground at the base of a tree.   This spring flows in to a river further down the hill, and nearby is the ruin of a very old house, so in former days this spring supplied water to the family that lived in the house in the woods.

ImageThe woods has many paths going up and down, and criss-crossing each other – sometimes it helps to have a map, and more importantly, to be able to read the map, and figure out the way!

The setting sun casts dappled shadows on the ground, as we head home.  for a coffee before going home!   See you on the next one!

Hi Joan! I just spotted this walk at the bottom of your last one. I’m so sorry! I didn’t get a pingback or anything so didn’t even know it was here. You must have thought me terribly ignorant.
