Thursday Doors: 22 December 2016

Kinsale, Co Cork

Child size door

We came across this door one evening while walking home from a friend’s house in Kinsale, Co Cork.   It seems it is still a functioning door, but I wonder why it is so small?   Maybe it was built for shorter people…or even the Little People?

Head on over to Norm’s Thursday doors for some more interesting posts.

I wonder if the foothpath got raised over the years, Joan. Maybe trying to avoid flooding? All the very best to you and the family for 2017. 🙂

Nice find, but it sure is an odd one. I wonder how/why this came about.

Thanks Norm, someone suggested they might have built the road up because of flooding in earlier times. The street below this one is known as short quay, it was once under water. Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Nice capture – and it always amazes
Me to see such small doors – I do think folks were smaller in some days /but it makes one wonder ….
