Color Your World : Cornflower

Ancient flagstones

Ancient flagstones

Yet another blue for this challenge, this time Cornflower. and I took this photo when visiting Worms in Germany.  The ancient cobblestones have grass growing between them, and they are so old that they have turned a shade of blue, almost matching my grandson’s tractor boots, while my own shoes do a good job of blending in!

Photo 101 Day 12 – Architecture

Every time we see an unusual or interesting building, we remember that it’s all down to the architecture, which makes the building pleasing, or otherwise, to the eye.

My photos were taken at John Lennon Airport in Liverpool yesterday, and the car park is cleverly disguised by the colourful panels, as you can see.  Some of the panels are made out of coloured glass, that reflect the airport building and it’s surroundings.

I converted the photo to monochrome, with a bluish tinge, which also looks interesting, with the blue sky in the background.

With a hint of blue.

One Word Photo Challenge : Fuschia

Fuschia is a flower that grows wild along the hedges in late summer, and it can also be a colour, ranging from pink to a more mauve shade.   I think this lovely wool, with which I made cardigans for my grandchildren, has the perfect shades of fuschia

A Photo A Week Challenge : A Splash of Colour

On a dull day on the mountains, these hillwalkers in their bright jackets are the only splash of colour against the dull heather and rocks.   The brightness also helps pick out the people in the dull landscape.

And these hollyhocks, which we used to call ‘fairy thimbles, stand out against the bracken on a summer’s evening.

Weekly Photo Challenge : Saturation

This is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge this week, Saturation.   All my photos for this entry were taken on our holiday in Zimbabwe, where the light and sunshine make the colours very intense….and saturated!

Cee’s Fun Photo Challenge : Blue and Yellow

Cee’s challenge this week is the post some photos in a blue and yellow theme.

On a recent walking holiday in Italy, we took a well deserved break one day (from the early mornings and late nights!) and went to visit an old town called Bolzano.   We were taken on a ‘guided’ tour of the old buildings in the town by a guide who must have been on her first job, as she had very little information on the town, except for what was contained in a little one page leaflet!   A lot of us got bored after a short while, and veered off to window shop – a much more interesting pastime!

Look at the bling we found:

And the prices of each piece were thankfully way out of our price bracket!

And I love the different colours of the houses along the narrow streets.
