Thursday Doors : Seen Better Days

Old houses in Malta

Old houses in Malta

This week, my doors are from Valletta in Malta, a row of old traditional houses, with the type of  balcony that is seen a lot in this area, giving extra space to the upstairs room.  Even though the houses are quite old, they look freshly painted and the owners still take pride in their houses.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge : Teal or Turquoise

This week’s challenge is a good one for me, as my daughter got married in Malta two week’s ago, in beautiful Valletta, and her colour scheme for the wedding was turquoise! It was a  pleasant surprise to see this challenge today!

The flower girls looked so beautiful and pretty with their turquoise dresses and ribbons in their hair, with a turquoise sky overhead.

And next day, we took a boat to visit the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon, on Comino Island, close to the island of Gozo.  Truly a trip to remember.

Sunday Stills : White

I just got back from my daughter’s wedding in Valletta, Malta so of course there was a lot of white – especially the beautiful bride!  There was also a lot of partying, under sunny blue skies and with blue and turquoise seas, but for now, here are a few white boats we came across.

A Moment in Time

One, two, three, Jump

One, two, three, Jump

Fleeting moments that we capture on camera bring back good memories of something that would otherwise be only a memory.  This photo was taken on a hilltop in the Matopos, near Bulawayo, Zimbabwe a few years ago where we went to watch the sunset while having a few ‘sundowners’.    Some of us can jump higher than others!

One Word Photo Challenge : Teal

Let's jump in.

Let’s jump in.

Teal is such a restful colour, serene and peaceful.   Can you just see the beautiful colour of the sea on a warm sunny day, with the reflection of the sun on the clear water, just like this swimming pool, seen from above.   Doesn’t it look inviting?

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge : Contrasting Colours

The theme of the challenge from Cee this week is Contrasting Colours.    While looking through my many albums, I found that the photos taken in strong sunshine really stand out when there is a contrasting colour, and these photos taken in Italy really show this well.  I loved visiting Italy, and hope you enjoy these photos in the sunshine.

Head on over for some more contrasts
