These beautiful windows that we found as we walked down the street, are definitely in harmony with their surroundings.

Window Shopping at Christmas Time

There is something very special about window shopping (and shopping itself) at Christmas time.   One of my favourite stores that really gets into the festive spirit, and creates a bit of magic, is Brown Thomas in the city centre.   We went for a walk around town a few evenings ago, to join the shoppers, look at the lights and get into the atmosphere, and once again the BT windows did not disappoint.

Linked to Daily Post Challenge – Gathering – I hope you enjoy my gathering of some festive windows!

Here’s to a great Christmas to everyone, and hope all your wishes come true.

A Lingering Look at Windows : June

My first two windows for this month’s challenge are the plain and simple, old fashioned sash windows,

which are part of a lighthouse we visited last weekend,

and as we climbed the 150 steep steps to the top, they were a welcome sight to ‘stop and stare’

(and get our breath back) while gazing at the wonderful views.

The view from the top of the lighthouse

Almost at the top of the lighthouse

And my next window which is the opposite of simplicity, is a fabulous stained glass from

All Saints Church in Drimoleague, which consists of seven panels telling the story from birth to death.

You can read the story of this church here in the very interesting post from a fellow blogger- Roaringwater Journal.

A Lingering Look at (Broken) Windows

Dawn’s Theme this week is Broken, here are a few broken and non-existent windows I have come across on my travels around Ireland.

Windows With A View : A Word A Week Photo Challenge

Here are some windows from my recent visit to Blarney Castle, they are so old that the glass is long gone, (if there ever was glass), but give a great view on the grounds below.   Check out some more posts at Sue’s blog.
