My flowers this week, again from my garden, are the lovely colourful and sweet smelling socks stocks.  I was away for a few days and when I got back my garden was looking great with everything in full bloom, it seems my garden thrives on neglect!
I have displayed my flowers in an unusual jug, decorated with birds and elephants, and with elephants climbing up the handle of the jug. I got this jug many years ago from a dear friend.  Her house was full of knick knacks and beautiful bits and pieces, as her  late husband had been a merchant seaman who travelled all over the world, and always brought back some exotic gift from his travels.

On a visit to Turkey, we went on a tour of Ancient Ephesus, where there are incredible Greek and Roman ruins. Â Ephesus was founded over 3000 years ago, and it was a major trading capital of the Roman Empire. Â Hidden among the ruins, in the dry and dusty heat, despite all the thousands and thousands that walk this way each week, this little plant brought a welcome touch of colour to the old stones.

Pink is a colour that always cheers people up, and is loved by all girls, big and little. Â These pink fuschias remind me of a summer’s day, and I look forward to seeing the fuschias in bloom in the next few months.
And I will be putting on these trainers soon, to brighten up my evening walks.
And my sweet grand-daughter is pretty in pink as she enjoys the snow last winter
