Old ruins at Castlemartyr, Co Cork

Many parts of Ireland have very old ruins, of castles, grand houses, or old thatched cottages.   No matter where you travel to, youare sure to come across something ancient.

In Ireland there is a nice balance of historic buildings which have been saved with many that have been left to decay naturally, like Castlemartyr. And each has a story, now often lost and forgotten.
